Sussex Borough is seeking a Chief Financial Officer with strong analytical skills to provide leadership in the
Borough’s financial matters. The position effectively assures vendor & manufacturing compliance to Thorlabs ISO9001 quality standards protecting customers. Inspectors perform visual and dimensional inspection of precision parts and make quick, accurate pass/fail decisions. The majority of this person’s time should be spent inspecting Thorlabs components coming off the CNC machines and manually equipment to guarantee the accuracy of the CNC machine set up and to ensure that the internal machine shop is producing quality components.   • Ability to learn, understand, and effectively apply sampling plans.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to operate in both individual and team environments.
  • Capable of reading mechanical drawings and interpret  dimensional tolerances. Knowledge of mechanical measurement and machining as well as an understanding of ISO9001 as it applies to inspection and      non-conformance.

The Coordinator will work to develop and implement strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations and individuals in health promotion, assessment, and evaluation activities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordination of a community-based coalition, recruit and maintain a diverse coalition membership with local and state partners through in-person and virtual activities and continually broaden expertise in the area of substance use disorder with a focus on environmental strategies
  • Represent the Coalition through professional associates locally, statewide and nationally and assist coalition members in conducting annual strategic planning and guide the Coalition to develop a comprehensive action plan
  • Develop and implement data collection methods, tools, and evaluation measures for coalition activities and associated projects in conjunction with coalition members and coordinate and facilitate coalition meetings and communicate effectively with members to promote collaboration, negotiation, and problem solving
  • Develop marketing and media materials, campaigns associated with coalition and community partners and continuously evaluate coalition effectiveness and coalition strategic plan

  • Promote coalition platforms via press releases, advertising, media, fliers, community events, and other means deemed beneficial for increasing awareness and conduct/coordinate parent, youth, and community presentations on substance abuse topics as needed on behalf of the Coalition. Manage special projects for the Coalition and Agency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Foundation of ATOD knowledge regarding evidence based prevention and treatment. Excellent verbal communication skills including one-on-one, public speaking and informative presentations as well as excellent written communication skills, including ability to contribute to newsletters, curriculum development and grant applications

CNC Technician, 2nd Shift, Thorlabs, Newton, NJ

The position is responsible for the manufacturing of precision optical components using the latest CNC technologies. Items include but are not limited to Aspherical Lenses, spherical lenses, Mirrors etc. made form specialty glasses and crystals. Although the location of the position is in Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other ThorLabs locations. Working hours are from 2pm - 11pm.

Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Perform all aspects of CNC / optical fabrication including grinding, polishing, surfacing, cleaning and inspection
  • Set up and adjustment of CNC machinery from supplied data without supervision
  • Installs all required tooling from tooling data and set-up instructions
  • Understands ISO9001 and MIL-PRF-13830B manufacturing standards.
  • Select and adjust tooling changes as needed without supervision
  • Read and understand spec sheets, blue prints, work orders and work instructions
  • Perform visual inspections of optics for defects related to fabrication.
  • Perform optical tests including interferometry and profilometer tests to determine optical quality
  • Perform cleaning operations to keep work area machinery maintained
  • Keeps supervisor apprised of unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect production schedules.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good manual dexterity
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere, and comply with high quality standards.
  • Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities.
  • Conventional Optics fabrication & polishing
