Ginnie’s House, Sussex County Children’s Advocacy Center
Ginnie’s House is a child-focused organization through which law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution, medical and mental health professionals, victim witness and family advocates coordinate an investigative interview and follow-up services to children who are suspected to be victims of sexual or physical abuse.
The Executive Director leads and supports our mission that when child abuse is suspected, disclosed or reported, victims will find Ginnie’s House to be a child-friendly place that reduces further trauma by coordinating the child protection, law enforcement, prosecution, healthcare and mental health agencies.
Full-time position, which provides leadership and oversight to all aspects of the planning, development and management of Ginnie’s House to carry out our mission. Executive functions include ensuring services are provided to coordinate timely, comprehensive, and culturally sensitive multidisciplinary response to child sexual/physical abuse allegations in a safe agency-neutral, child-focused setting. Responsible for fiscal oversight and organization viability, grant writing and program implementation, implementing and enforcing the organization’s policies, community relations, volunteer development, interaction with related agencies, oversight of personnel, and assisting family and team members as needed. Travel, including overnight and out-of-state travel is occasionally required.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in social work or a related field, five years’ experience in nonprofit management or related field, and professional training in child abuse is strongly preferred.
Act independently and keep the Board informed.
Manage personnel and independent contractors as well as coordinate with related agencies’ personnel.
Possesses above-average interpersonal skills to relate positively to children and their families, the Board, related agencies, staff, associates, and the general public.
Read and interpret government and regulatory documents.
Research and write grants, and report as required
Write reports, business correspondence, and make policy recommendations.
Prepare and manage a budget.
Speak and advocate effectively in front of public groups.
Use technology and all office equipment.
